Little
Common crashed to their sixth defeat
of the season as they went down 3-0 to league
leaders Loxwood on Saturday. Their hosts came
into the match on the back of three successive
league defeats and Common knew that they would
be in for a tough afternoon especially without
the services of Adam Fisher, Mark Funnell and
Chas Lister. It was Common who fashioned the
first opportunity of the match when a Micky
O'Callaghan cross evaded two defenders and fell
at the feet of Lewis Hole but he blazed over
from twelve yards. The same player also hit
a post from a tight angle moments later after
a neat turn sent the keeper in the wrong direction.
The home side came into the game and bossed
the remainder of the half, finally breaking
the deadlock ten minutes before half time when
a pinpoint cross was met at the far post for
the easiest of finishes. Richie Gray was called
upon to keep the margin to one when he saved
well at the feet of Damon Aston as the half
time whistle approached. Common were the better
team in the second period and took the game
to their hosts in search of an equaliser. O'Callaghan
saw his quick free kick just drift wide and
Ricky Mote saw his volley palmed over the bar.
With Common pushing they were always in danger
of counter attacks and the match was effectively
sealed ten minutes from time when an unmarked
Grant Miller headed the second. The same player
added a third from distance and despite some
late pressure it wasn't to be Common's day.
Squad: Gray, Steward, S.Mote,
Hall, Poole, Rogers, O'Callaghan, R.Mote (Matthews),
Hole, Morris, Lusted (Humphrey).

to reduce Rye Bay’s goal advantage. Commons
goals came from Liam Bryant, Jake Faulkner and
Harry Turner.
Little Common Under 13's couldn't
